Was it played a lot in the U.S. in the late 70's/early 80's?

This song was in rotation for a few months. The heavy Latin Percussion made it very popular here in Miami. I know a few deejays who still play parts of it today!

I guess it was a bit more underground than what I first thought, but it's a great track in my opinion. Always works on the floor :)

It did exceptionally well in Latin America! In the US it was popular in the clubs as well and it's considered as one of the foundations of the Chicago House Sound. The bassline is sampled x-times.

Two Man Sound - "Que Tal America".
I played this sometimes in Australia.
It seemed to work ok but the one that got the best floor reaction was "Capital Tropical" :twisted:

Erick Morillo done a great production for Jocelyn Brown sampling that guitar from "Que Tal America". I have played this to death!!!!

Yeah, I've heard that one, it was on his Subliminal Sessions Classics mix album from 2005. That was actually were I first heard that beat. The track was by Ministers De-La-Funk, but I must say, I prefer the original.

funny maybe but not so surprising as Belgium gave the world New Beat, Electronic Body Music (Front 242) et al... :shock:
