I am now going to break the tie! 5-5 right now. But with this, the swing vote, things change. In the bottom of the ninth, the HR goes to I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOUR LOVE by The Emotions. And it certainly wasn't easy.

Can't believe there was never an extended version. The 12" promo(labelled special disco mix) was only 4 mins long. The album is about the same time length.

"BORDERLINE" don't even belong in the same paragraph with these two HEAVYWEIGHTS by Yazoo & Human League.
"BORDERLINE" was just a radio/pop hit for Madonna.
It didn't have any excitement, no momentum, no funk, no energy---just a lil pop fluff for her fans.
You could have named 20 better songs by Madonna.
You could have flipped the 12" over for a better jam ("Lucky Star").
Club Hits, Dance hits, real jams---"BORDERLINE" is just what it says, borderline.
That saying that, it is IMPOSSIBLE to pick between "DON'T YOU WANT ME BABY" & "SITUATION"---I played them back to back--on top of each other---all kind of ways. The year was 1982. And Yazoo & Human League had the #1 & #2 club hits of the summer!
My official vote is a true TIE----Yazoo & Human League, which ever you want.
If I need to pick one, I pick "DON'T YOU WANT ME" because of the killer 'B' side Dub/Remix by Martin Rushant!
