What happened to the SONG OF THE DAY? It was so cool there for a while. I looked forward to checking out what songs MAN would put up next. But has he run out of records??
PETE'S NOTE:: MAN, I think you just got called out!!
I am not positive, but here, that is a

MAN, this is not exactly what I requested, in fact not even close! No bald head, no deep bass voice. I guess you do not have what I recommended. So what, no big deal. This is a pretty good song. Sounds like a cross of The Pointer Sisters and Sister Sledge, produced by CHIC. The video seems to feature choreography by none other then Stevie Wonder. Their coordination in the dance steps sure "looks" like his work. Who was that lead vocalist? She sounds familiar. Is this band from Holland? I never heard of them(The Only Mai Tai's I have seen were a good strong drink). So obviously, I never played this. Wish I had known about it, I certainly would have played it. Good Job. I see people slowly walking to the dance floor. What's next??

"History" was a big hit in Europe in 1985.
As I recall it was a group from the Netherlands - they seem to still be active (at least they've got a web-site - see www.mai-tai.nl).
In 1986 they had another hit with "Female Intuition", but "History" was bigger.
The girls names are; Jetty Weels, Mildred Douglas, Carolien de Windt
Still love this tune - THANKS MAN !!

Welcome back, you were missed! I love this song, it does sound like Chic. I never heard of this, but I am looking on eBay right now for it. I love it!

"Hello To The World" I really do not mind good music in other languages. But that does not include this. Poor Italian rap song. I doubt that it gets played anywhere! If it does, the programming director should be shot! In any language this song sucks! The VAULT TROLL lives!! Of course, that is solely my opinion.

Here they come!! Everyone is running to the Dance floor! A TEN!!! Great song, I played it until I wore it out. You have made the club's Owner extremely happy. He wants to give you a raise. But you got to keep it going. SAN SALVADOR consistently packed everyone's(Except Jay's) dance floor. I loved playing and mixing this song. Great Job Dee Jay!!

This song was successful all over Europe, became a #8 hit in the UK Singles Chart and reached the Top 20 in Germany. It was also a hit in New Zealand and Australia and entered the U.S. Billboard and topped off at #3 on the Hot Dance Club Play. I remember this track being very hot when I was at G-Wizz. I played it every now and then. Although a very good track it was a little slow in tempo for my taste. Didn't make it into my primary rotation.
PETE'S NOTE:: Ray, I remember you BURNING this song. Didn't you turn me on to it??

MAN,
This track is a killer... Love it and have had it featured in May 2005 in my On the Turntable section.
It's so uplifting and is one of the best Italian Disco tracks ever released (which the Italian bonus Sparo rap track was not !! )
Btw - anyone remember a French rap track called "A Mon Age Deja Fatigue" by Pierre Edouard ?

Mai Tai is a Dutch pop-act (named after a tropical cocktail) was formed in 1983 by the Dutch record producers Eric van Tijn and Jochem Fluitsma. With the three former backing vocalists Jetty Wheels, Mildred Douglas and Caroline De Windt they created the most successful Dutch soul and disco/pop act.

Song Of The Day 30-08
Still with Disco 80's style with one song that I like very much , the music is great (at least for me) the song is I don't Wan't You Back by Ramona Brooks - 1980 , this is the vocal version , I am looking hardly fro the instrumental version if somebody can help me with.
