Then Jay,
You will feel at ease at the RANCH HOUSE. Ray has two 1200s, and two CD turntables as well. We will use all four on one or two mixes this time. we will get a little fancy. But I still use vinyl, in fact, this will be my first time trying cd turntable. Everyone tells me once I get the hang of it, it will be easier then vinyl. That remains to be seen!!

The three times I was there, he wasn't very good. He had a hard time getting it on beat. But that was 35 years ago or so.So I hope to do better then that. I want to sound like Nick Siano, or Pete Denis!! In their prime!! Will the cd turntables help me there?? Or is there no hope!!...... Have no fear, UNDERDOG is here!

Of All These Labels We Are Listing Here, Which Had The Most Hits?? And Of All Those Labels, Which One Had The Most Total DISCO Releases? Simply A Guess, Off The Top Of My Head, The Answer To Both Questions Is Atlantic Records! Tell Me I Am Wrong.--- CBS Records And It's Affiliate Labels Are Also Right There!!

I don't know the count. On one side you've got WEA: included in that is: Warner-Electra-Atlantic, Cotillion, Mirage, Rolling Stones, Wing & A Prayer & Island (for a while).
On the other side: CBS/Sony: Columbia, Epic, Work, Philly International, Golden Fleece, TSOP, Legacy.
That's 2 heavy hitters! Not to say that Polygram (Mercury, Polydor, Casablanca) or T.K. was a slouch either.

What About RCA? --- I tell you what we can do. We take those two "hands" up there, rent the biggest Disco we can find. We set up a stage, with ropes around it like a wrestling or boxing ring. We get all those label groups to show up, and we can have an old fashioned battle of the bands, with each act representing their respective labels. They can only play the songs that those labels released. Then we let them go! If at the end there is a tie, then they can beat each other with their walking sticks! Best thing, we sell the exclusive television rights to the highest bidder, and put it all on PAY-PER-VIEW, at $59.95 per buy! I think that would be the only solution, ...unless some has the real numbers!!

Thank You Tom, my guess is Columbia(CBS) Records. Maybe Atlantic or even RCA. It is not TOM N' JERRY Records! Let us know!!

Guys !
Back from Bali...
I would agree to CBS/Columbia OR Atlantic...
Both labels had many different kind of acts, everything from Disco via Pop to Rock and both had several sub-labels... So I think it's kind of "impossible" to give one firm answer to the question. Maybe it's a tie ?

Welcome home Claes! Hope that you had fun. You got some catching up to do. There has been a ton of activity, and a whole bunch of new members. Plus, there are some things you still haven't finished doing??-- As for the Label, there has to be ONE label that ruled, I too believe that is CBS, but I really want to know for sure.

Pete,
I think I kind of agree with you...
On a personal lever I think I like the CBS roaster a little better - even though Trammps, ABBA, Chic and similar was on Atlantic. I have a soft spot for the Columbia releases...
But again, maybe Atlantic was a bit more Disco if you think about it...

not an easy one... I guess you guys are probably right.
Just to open the conversation...what about polydor or Hansa ? They aren't probably the biggest labels, but I see many disco songs from these labels aswell. Ariola ? Motown ?

Ariola was a minor player here in the States. HANSA was even smaller! Polydor was pretty big here, and MOTOWN!! Huge! But all these labels combined were not as big as CBS, ATLANTIC and RCA. Those three, I think, were the big boys!!
