Dancer was a club favorite for DJs for one obvious reason... it was damn easy to blend it with just about any disco track and always sounded great.
Heather Gauthier was the lead singer for dancer as for several other tracks of Gino.
Heather is one of the 3 ladies of the group Toulouse
(Let's try once again) (C,est toujours à recommencer) (Funkysation) etc etc
have fun!

Disco1999,
Thanks for this information... Sadly many great voices of Disco remained nameless and faceless for the audiences. Many of them would have deserved a career of their own... Now it seems Heather had bit of a career of her own with Toulouse, but many didn't. But I love her voice on "Dancer" !!
Will check out Toulouse...
THANKS !

Gino Soccio's work will be remembered as one who continued with the times of Disco and Electronic.
Great stuff!

DANCER WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST TUNES THE NIGHT GALLERY HAD PLAYED IN IT. SO MANY SONGS CAN BE OVERLAYED ON THIS TUNE, A GEM FOR ALL TIME AND AN ABSOLUTE FAVORITE OF MINE WHICH I STILL PLAY.

In my opinion, "Dancer" is my favorite of all time from the man. "Dancers" will be in my all time greatest hits list. I also like and play "it is good," and "Remember" and "Try"...

The underrated album "S-Beat" had gems like Heartbreaker, I still have the 12" promo.

"Remember" stands out as a classic and Soccio's most monumental impression. I can listen to this tune today and still feel the same French butterflies and goose bumps it gave me in its hey day. There are some songs I categorize as "magic," meaning that I experience it as an inexplicable inspiration of muses. It's a very subjective definition, I know, but it is forever embedded in my psyche as just that. "Remember" is magic.
Merci Gino Soccio.
