Strawberry Patch Wayne,NJ

This was me. Saturday Night Fever kicked off the craze 6 monthes earlier. I was 22, home from college, turned my family's struggling restaurant into the Strawberr Patch & had an unbelievable 7 year run. Jerry Lembo was a class act. He was juiced into the NY scene big-time. Heavy into industry promos. We benifited from his contacts. I picked up the ball & ran with it. Visited NYC often for design & operational insight.

We spun off into concerts (Village People, Gloria Gaynor, Tramps, Grace Jones @ thier peak) Teen Disco, Private Parties,Theam Parties, & had a huge success producing the areas best weekly "Male Dancer Nite".

I could go on for days talking about my exploits. The energy the Club generated was electric. People still talk about us. Pound for pound, good as anybody around in those days.

Jamie,

I agree with Soul-Boy...
If you've got some pic's from any of those concerts or likewise it would be interesting to see... Or anything else you've got from BITD...

Another disco nugget from the past has been unearthed!!

Welcome Jaime.
We all love this kinda stuff here as you can tell if you've looked around a bit here on the forums.
Pictures are great if you have them, even newspaper articles.
Looking forward to some more of your stories as they come to hand. :)

Jaime....Thank you for your hard work in creating "The Patch." OMG we always had a blast there...it was our place to unwind, get lost in the music, dance till closing when we all said "ooooh noooo I don't wanna have to leave." My friends and I will NEVER forget the good times there, in fact, we still talk about those days. It was a place where we got to dress up & get on stage & feel good about ourselves....I had the Strawberry Patch keyring for the longest time but the memories and the music I will keep forever.
