Behave you two, you know that the YANKEES ROCK!!-- Easy ELI!!-- The Trammps very well made Disco a household name in NYC. But Eli is right, The BEE GEES were more impact-full world wide!! Then there is DONNA SUMMER!! She had a bit of an impact too! There was a band in Miami who called themselves "COKE"! What had more of an impact than COKE!!---- LOL

As much as I am no longer a fan due to personal reasons, hands down,
Donna Summer was marketed as the "IT" girl of disco. Once she stopped doing disco and veered off into the rock realm, it seems the rest of the world lost interest in disco too.

Mike,
As un-reasonable as that sounds, it remains a fact. Once Donna jumped off the Disco gravy train, it seems that fewer people jumped on board, and many followed her getting off too. Did SHE abandon or was it bad managerial advise?? I don't know, who really knows? And we talked about your feelings toward Donna, and I thought you dismissed the rumors? This a woman who has supported AIDS hospitals and awareness. And really an argument for other sites. So why bother? We ALL still love her music, despite all the other angles. RIGHT!

What can I say Pete, as far as I am concerned it took her a little too long to support those who buttered her bread. Just my opinion and I certainly won't nor need to give her any more of my money.
All of that aside though, I do remember reading in the disco magazines of the day that she wanted to get out of disco and veer more towards rock. Without Giorgio Moroder she tanked in my opinion.

Y.M.C.A. is another one of those songs that I won't play unless the price is right!

After the initial month of playing YMCA, when it was originally released. I hardly ever played it. Occasionally you heard it during a Village People Homage set. But that was it except at Ed Martin Mobile gigs. Strictly children's party material.[/i]

For being "best" vocalists? Good lord no!
They did put on an interesting live show but they weren't the best singers of the day by any means in my opinion.

BEST SINGLE ARTIST DISCO VOCALIST EVER ?
DISCO VOCALS WERE NEVER MEANT TO SHOW OFF YOUR FANTASTIC LUNGS , IT WAS FOR THOSE WHO HAD THAT MELODIC AND RITHIMIC SOUND.
SO AS SOLOISTS GO IT'S HARD TO PICK ONE OUT AS THE BARBRARA STREISAND OF DISCO.
