Yeah who needs sea-sickness when you can just play The Defranco Family.

This was released in 1983.
It was a hit in hip hop/club circles for a short period.
IRT - "Watch The Closing Doors"
Produced by Raul A Rodriguez. Mixed by John Morales & Sergio Munzibai.
There's a dub which had edits by The Latin Rascals as well.
It's a fab record that has a great number of stories to tell about a day on the train.
Crazy rap vocal but not your usual fair. An excellent delivery.
Never heard from them again.

Pflext,
It wasn't yesterday I heard that IRT (Interboro Rhythm Team) track.
It was massive here in Stockholm, Sweden back in the days along with Herbie Hancock's "Rock It" (which was in the same electro vain).
Thanks for reminding me...

Natasha King - "AM-FM" Emergency Records. 1983.
Loved this track when it appeared in the early 80s.....Disconet even did a re-edit of it for club use.
Check out the dual saxaphones.....you don't often hear them in electro tracks.
You can find a download link posted by Dancer in the downloads page here.

hey guys, I missed the whole conversation about "space invaders". You may or may not like it but it was HUGE at San Francisco's Trocadero. Bobby Viteritti made it an Anthem there and is considered to be right up there with "Follow me" (or is that "swallow me"?) LOL I secretly like Space Invaders. Ssshhhh........ don't tell anyone!

I don't know if anybody has already mentionned :
Ronnie Dyson * "Couples only "
I don't know if he had other hits in the US, but I guess that that "Couples Only" was his only hit....

Don't recall Ronnie's "Couples Only", but I remember he had a Funky track on Cotillion in 1983 called "All Over Your Face". Mixed by John Morales & Sergio Munzibai and it is a Paradise Garage classic.

ah yes "All over your face". The first time I heard this was Paul "Flex" playing this on radio in late 1983. Good on you Paul! I finally found a copy in NYC years later. I don't remember "couples only" maybe this was only a hit with a "couple of people only" LOL

Ronnie Dyson had a big POP hit with "IF YOU LET ME MAKE LOVE TO YOU THEN WHY CAN'T I TOUCH YOU" ---so he is not a 1 hit wonder.
(what a freakin' title, eh?)

Ronnie had an amazing voice and passed away far too early. He had a number of other hits, too.
These included "The More You Do it", "One Man Band" and his version of Main Ingredient's "Just Don't Want To Be Lonely".
The one that I reckon stands out, however, is this one, from '71. The Delfonics also recorded it but, for me, this one is the killer version:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOK_FLRxHp0Enjoy!

Very funny and an awesome groove. who remembers it? I bet you do Mr Flex! LOL Funny you should bring this up mate. MAN had "Dracs Back" posted as SONG OF THE DAY back in September last year. Here is my response from that thread.A small story for you from 1979. I was playing a club that used to have "guest" djs. Stars would come in to promote their latest book/movie/song...whatever
So........ tonights guest is Hollywood star George Hamilton.
He is in Australia to promote his new film "Love At First Bite". He was my "guest" dj for about 30 mins (dressed in Dracula gear as per the film).....too funny.
I made sure I had my copy of "Dracs Back" to play that night!!!!
