It's mainly built from tapes containing music originally spinned by a dj called Marley Marl.

Just got this e-mail. Someone to look forward to!!--
Hi Pete,
Yes I was a DJ and played in clubs in Jersey and NY and could work the Bozak with the best of them. There's no question the Garage had the best sound system and Larry was the master of "Zuki" (the name he had given the Richard Long system). There was nothing like a night at the Paradise Garage when Larry was in the zone, but some nights he was just awful. The nights he was off or would play some off the wall stuff the crowd would sit down on the dance floor in protest to let him know they didn't like the music, it was hilarious. Levan was not the best DJ ever as he couldn't really mix all that well, but he did create magic on King St.
One of my all time favs was Ritchie Kasczor R.I.P. He never got the recognition he deserved and also was a personal friend. He was truly a master and a gentleman and I miss him dearly. I was truly lucky to get to know a lot of the greats of our time. We thought we were all bullet proof and could dance all night. It pains me to think of all the friend's I've lost either to AIDS or drugs but I guess it's the price we pay, when your candle burns twice as bright it only last half as long.
Anyway I will join the site and let the youngsters know what time it is and really piss off the Larry fans, the queens that they are anyway lol.
Happy Holidays
Big Al

Discoguy wrote: For you PG and LL heads... I have just added Gwen Guthrie's Portrait album as CD of the Month as it has just been released on CD for the first time... The CD comes with three classic Larry Levan remixes of "Peanut Butter", "Hopscotch" (instrumental) and "Padlock". Check it out//Discoguy
Excellent Stuff!
I've two copies with one signed by Larry when he walked into Vinyl Mania Records 4/19/85
RIP both Gwen and Larry!
