This little ditty was a floor filler, it came out in 1975, I know that because I bought two copies of the 45 at the Record Shack and he gave three. I still have one in MINT condition

Jumping into this thread by going back a couple of posts:)
I hadn't started DJ:ing when "When the fuel runs out" first was around but I knew it very well. Later I found Chuck Jacksons version that I played a lot. Did you ever play that remake? And how did you like it?

Hey Pooch,

Regarding "Makes You Blind"....I knew nothing about this track until Hippie Torrales mentioned it on this site. What a great track it is and it totally passed me by and to think that me being from the same place as The Glitter Band!...Go figure!

Hello noman,
No, I never played the Chuck Jackson version. I am an original version type guy. There is only one song that was a remake that I ever played and that was the David Morales mix of "Was That All it Was" by Kim Myzelle. I am sorry that I have delayed in posting, I am very busy at work. But, I will keep digging in the collection.
Thanks
Pooch

Interesting.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the modern remakes here, 60's and 70's soul had lot's and lot's of different renditions and remakes of the same songs, sometimes during the same year. It was not always the original that was the best one or the one even DJ's knew about.

In this case of course the original was a hit and Chuck Jacksons remake was a parenthesis (even if it was a very good one). (By the way Chuck is one of my favourite singers and I often prefer his versions over the original versions).

Well, I keep digging into the 45 collection, some songs I can not find on the net. But here is a SMASH from 1973 that always had the floor on the move.
First Choice, "Armed & Extremely Dangerous". This is only one from this mega group, there is a couple more that I will post.
Thanks

Lets keep going here, It is sad that we can not find the original copies sometimes, but, at least we can find them. Here is Kool & The Gang circa 1972, "Jungle Boogie"

"Jungle Boogie"...now that was a tune and a half! It got a second lease of life in the UK after it appeared on the soundtrack to PULP FICTION..It was played to death in the summer of 92'...

Whoa!..not only to a get a meaty main course but the Pooch serve's me up with the desert of all desert's.... the O'Jays and "Time To Get Down"...
Taken from one of my favourite lp's "Backstabbers"....I can not fail to feel this one!

That was two mighty fine dishes you served up Dan!
Many Thanks!
