During the disco era there was an abundance of orchestra's releasing beautiful disco influenced records..what was your favourite track from the many orchestra's that were around during this period and why?..Please limit your choices to no more than three please!

Any thing that the Maestro touched was heaven. All of Barry White's work with the Love Unlimited Orchestra was a favorite of mine. These are just two of the many I love. But there was SALSOUL ORCHESTRA, The MFSB guys, too many!

LOVE'S THEME
LET THE MUSIC PLAY

The ones that immeadiately spring to mind are the ones that have the word "orchestra" in the artists name so...............

Barry White & The Love Unlimited Orchestra.

Mike Theodore Orchestra

John Davis & The Monster Orchestra.

All three orchestras created dance floor magic & intensity in music that is rarely rivaled even today. :)

Anyone who saw these orchestras back in the day must feel truly blessed.........alas I'm not one of them. :(

Love unlimeted & salsoul orchestra are for me the TOP... really the number ONE....

But I have to say one thing:

Long time ago I saw in www.forevernow.com a great video by Level 42

It was "Love Games" ..... on this special video live version had behind a FANTASTIC orchestra playing together with Mark King this track

OHHHHHHH it was simply extraordinary can see all the instruments in perfect hamony.....

unhappily I can´t get to record that video and today there is not anymore the link about it.

I already search it in youtube and dailymotion but never got to find.....

I wrote some e-mails to page´s manager and one time he answered to me telling me that had lost... and didn´t know how to find again....

:( :( :( :( :(

I've got a lot but starting with 1:

Tony Sylvester & Main Ingredient: "Pazuzu"

Although "Pazuzu" is the name of the demon in the Exorcist sequels (BTW, the funniest movies ever made) he/she has nothing to do with this track.

It's a sensuous violin-driven track with a woman all moaning over it. So, as you know by now, that's a vintage Starr track.

STARR! We really are Soul-Brothers. I remember sitting in a crowded movie theater in 1971 when The Exorcist came out. The crowd would scream in fear, I screamed in laughter! Watching poor, little Linda Blair's head spin around. LOL HA HA HA-- Then the green pea soup flowing, LOL HA HA HA HA-- And when she curses everyone out while ramming a crucifix into her bloody crotch, LOL ha ha ha. OH, how about the Shrink's face when she grabs his balls!! TOO PHUCKIN much. FUNNY! Easily the FUNNIEST movie ever made!! The sequels are almost as funny. How about Father Karras crawling on the roof like a spider!! LOL HAHA HA HA!! My wife, family & friends don't think it is funny!! Come on! It's a movie!! Of course it was funny! We are from the same mold!! Only you are tall, I am not!- Oh, the thread! Hey, how about "TUBULAR BELLS"!!!

Mates, a question:

I was looking for 24 years this track:

Dexter wansel - I'll Never Forget ( my fav discotheque )

I just listened this track once in 1979 and after this never more.....

in 2004 duiring my visit in London I got to have the 12" ( it was a gift from my other brothere called Richard F. )

ask to all you:

is there in the end of this track a orchestra ????

Gui

ps Darren, Aninha will have a baby in the end of this month :-)

Imo orchestras are for heightened emotionally charged, more often than not romantic music, what with the strings. So, when it comes down to it the best orchestral track has got to be LOVE'S THEME by Love Unltd Ork, that always does the trick. It's sweet but does not make anyone gag, it's not saccarine nor mawkish. Here in my country one of the most popular radio channels Radio Groove has kept it in rotation for years, and whenever the familiar intro comes thru I stop whatever I'm doing in the office and stare to the ceiling for a couple of seconds. Life IS wonderful after all.
Second price goes to MY SWEET SUMMER SUITE and the 3rd place is shared by SALSOUL RAINBOW and SUMMERTIME by MFSB.
Tomorrow night at the club I'll be spinning a long seque of heavy duty fast tempo kickass electronic stuff. Then without warning I'll suddenly kill the highs and middles, pitch the beat down all the way and behold: LOVE'S THEME!
