NO, THIS IS NOT A THREAD ABOUT THE OLD BING COSBY CLASSIC SONG.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO HERE IS TURN EVERYONE INTO A CLUB DJ OR CLUB SPINNER.
EVERY ONE WILL BE A STAR.
NO ONE CAN LOSE.
I WILL POST A DANCE TRACK.
THE NEXT PERSON THAT WANTS TO STEP INTO THE DJ BOOTH WILL RESPOND BY PULLING A DANCE TRACK OUT OF HIS MEMORY BANK COLLECTION AND LET US ALL KNOW THE NEW SONG THAT WOULD MIX WITH THE SONG ALREADY POSTED.
FOR EXAMPLE, IF I POST THE SONG, "AND THE BEAT GOES ON" BY THE WHISPERS. YOU MAY RESPOND BY POSTING YOUR PROPOSED MIX OF"STRAIGHT TO THE BANK BY BILL SUMMERS".
THE NEXT PERSON WILL MIX A SONG INTO "STRAIGHT TO THE BANK" WITH SOMETHING ELSE.
IN ADDITION, IF YOU'D LIKE YOU CAN ELABORATE ON YOUR MIX, FOR EXAMPLE WOULD YOU ,AS CAPTAIN PETE DENIS WOULD SAY, DO A LIVE MIX WITH THE SONG THAT YOU ARE MIXING IN WITH THE PROPOSED TRACK?
WILL YOU MIX YOUR NEW SONG FROM THE BREAK ?
YOU ARE THE DJ.
IT IS YOUR TURN TO SPIN THE NEXT SONG.
SWING ON A STAR.
HERE IS THE TRACK. **************************************************************** I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S RIGHT-EVELYN " CHAMPAGE" KING***************************************************************

At the end of Evelyn King's track I would mix from the last chorus to the middle chorus so I can mix out of Evelyn's middle break. A long crossfade into the intro of Hall & Oates' "I CAN'T GO FOR THAT" 12" version.
Hey wait a minute!!! We already have a similar thread here at DD.com---
It is....'THE BEST DISCO IN TOWN' thread.....we've been DJing there for months!!!

Yeah! Pinky,
Was gonna mention we already had this up and running for a few months now!
I suppose we could make one club purely for disco and the other say for classic soul/funk & boogie...
Would that work?...I don't Know...just a suggestion!...what does everybody else think!

Great idea for a thread Pinky. Wish I'd thought of it. Keeping it on the smooth tip though; from Hall & Oates I would ease in Patrice Rushen - "Forget Me Nots......but in the middle break where the saxophone takes over. Who's up next?

GUYS...
We have this DJ mix session in the Best Disco In Town thread. So - I suggest we either keep it in that thread - OR - as Soul-Boy suggests - make this thread here one specialized in a specific genre or something. Else we'll have two threads running with the same purpose and that might be one too much. So let's make this thread dedicated to some specific genre - OK?! Preferably something like Funk or Soul (as the other thread is Disco/Club).
THANKS !

It is still the same thing. It all depends, wouldn't thousands of songs be both? Same thing guys!

I STARTED THIS THREAD AND I WAS NOT AWARE OF "THE BEST DISCO IN TOWN THREAD" WHICH REALLY CIOVERS THE SAME PRINCIPLE.
SORRY ABOUT THIS GENTLEMEN.
I DO NOT THINK IT IS ADVANTAGEOUS TO LIMIT THE THREAD TO A SPECIFIC TYPE OF MUSIC TO KEEP IT ALIVE SINCE DISCO/ DANCE COVERS A WIDE SPECTRUM OF MUSIC TYPES.
" THE BEST DISCO IN TOWN THREAD" WILL CONTINUE TO THREAD AND SINCE I DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY OR KNOWLEGE ON HOW TO DELETE THIS THREAD, I WILL SIMPLY CALL IT QUITS AS GIL SCOTT-HERON WOULD SAY,
"RIGHT HERE".
THANKS AGAIN .

It's all cool PINKY. It isn't the first time that has happened, I would bet it won't be the last time either. Please feel free to throw the mix down on that thread. It needs an OLd School voice!
