WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE REMIX AND BY WHO?

Who is the DJ Remixer that did the best remix?
Changed the original song into a masterpiece????

My vote is Walter Gibbons' remix of "HIT & RUN" by Loleatta Holloway.

Try to choose one or 2---I know there are many!!!

GEE, thanks STARR, that really is an honor for you to say that, especially if you were serious. I happen to agree with you!! LOL- I know nothing about studio remixers. BUT, whoever did the disconet of Pouzzez's COME ON AND DO IT was the best I heard! PERIOD!!

My alltime favourite remix is First Choice's Let No Man Put Asunder by Shep Pettibone!Even now,25 years later it sounds so fresh like Shep mixed yesterday :D
I agree with Soul-Boy about Mariah's Dreamlover,another great remix,Morales at his finest!

Changed the original song into a masterpiece????
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This is a really good question. Let's analyze it. Did any of these "Remixers" really take a song and make it into a "masterpiece"? Or was it a great song to begin with that they touched, spliced and made better. They were not really totally responsible for it. But their touch, certainly improved the original. With that as a premise, then could not the same thing happen when a deejay mixes it, LIVE? I think we have an example of it here. Like STARR mentioned above, one of the best "remixes" I have ever heard, was performed, created, arranged, "LIVE" by our own Pete Denis. Yes, MAMBO # 5 was a great song to begin with, but what Pete did to it, made it a real, "Masterpiece". This, my friends, is the real "Best Remixer" or "Remix" I have ever heard! And he needed no studio, no gimmicks, no tape, no splicing. That should be an important point to look at. He did it LIVE, no STUDIO!!! Listen to it! Again & again. It really is incredible! Don't you agree??

I should have been more specific.
I was speaking of STUDIO REMIXES where the remixer has an opportunity to entirely change the musical tracks.

Of course Pete is King Of The Live Remix.
(imagine what he would do in the studio)

another good question.
the late froggy done a few re-mixes.
for me the best was booker newbury's ---love town----

but the best re-mix for me, was the blaze re-mix of E,W & F- fantasy.
the whole track was broken down and re-built.
pure quality.
