HERE IS A SIMPLE ONE FOR EVERYBODY:

"LONG CLUB VERSION" MEANT EVERYTHING TO THE CLUB DJ.

THE TWELVE INCH SINGLE WERE ALL EXTENDED VERSIONS OF THE ORIGINAL TRACK FOR ENHANCED CLUB PLAY.I THINK ALL OF US HERE CAN AGREE WITH THIS.

NEVERTHELESS,WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE LONG (OVER 10 MINUTE) SONG ,OR MEDLEY, THAT YOU ENJOYED SPINNING, OR EVEN ENJOYED LISTENING TO,THAT ALSO GAVE YOU A LITTLE BREATHING SPACE, OR PROVIDED A LITTLE BREAK FOR THE EVENING?

THERE WERE MANY.

PLEASE REPLY WITH JUST ONE - THE ONE THAT WAS SPECIAL FOR YOU, FOR WHATEVER REASON---AND LET IT SHINE FOR EVERYONE !

Hi Pinky.

Thanks for all the great music you've supplied & remixed over the years....I am truly grateful. :)

The best one for me would have to have been "Rappers Delight" - Sugarhill Gang.

It was 15 minutes long & used to allow me not only to go to the mens room but also across the road for a burger & enough time to eat it!!

"Love Deluxe - "Here Comes That Sound" was another.

When I was spinning at a club I really didn't like to play a song for over 7-8 minutes. I thought that it would bore the crowd or atmosphere. For example when Gloria Gaynor came out with her medley "HONEY BEE/NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE/REACH OUT", I never played the whole thing. I would play each cut separate but never the whole side.

***Having said that---When I needed to go to the BATHROOM, and had to walk out of the DJ booth, around frenzied dancers, around the bar, and back again I played: Donna Summer's "TRY ME". Good for keeping the dancers interested because of it's many changes & breaks.
The following year it was "GET ON THE FUNK TRAIN" by Georgio Moroder/Munich Machine.

I know I voted twice but I could not choose just one!!!

All the early Donna Summer albums! Specifically one, the BLUE Album, the one that had I LOVE YOU on it, all pre-mixed. And of course, DISCONET records were wonderful, for stepping out for a FATTY!

MIDNIGHT LOVE AFFAIR-- By Carol Douglass- This was extremely popular when I was a teen-ager! And it lasted, what, 75 minutes? You could get laid while it played. LOL

I am fan of VOYAGE, Loved both those great albums. I always loved playing them, great for the dance floor. Perfect for a short break too! Yet, I rarely heard the entire album in a club? Why was that?

A big one was Santa Esmeralda,"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". It was a very cool song to dance to.

Here is an oldie but goodie; used to be my refer break at 'The Last Laugh' (my first DJ job in '74):

"GET READY" - Rare Earth - lp version - 21 minutes & change - 1970

PETE'S NOTE:: You might have played it in 1970, but the record has 1969 on it!

JAY's NOTE: released late '69-Dec
