Well I think that the "Remix" of old classics would give some resurgence of the 70's - 80's. This in the end, I think - opens the eyes of the modern day club goer. For me, as an "Old School" DJ nothing but the original goes on the turntable when I play. To each his own, for his own floor. I make no insult to any of my brothers here, if it works for you and you can make your people dance for you, then play it!

If a remix is true to the original, and I mean really true, and it makes the song better then I'll go with it!!!
For example this remix by Kenny Gonzales--it kicks major ass!!!
I would play this one instead of Tee Scott's 1980 original in a heartbeat!!The link also has a dub version & an accapella!!!
