well...I'm an emotive man... and now I'm inspired to write something now... maybe due to the tracks "let yourself go" from supreme (that I play in this moment) ... but so... I want write now (and sry for grammar) After reading and look at some video about disco/house history, where all is born, with all the memories of peoples that have lived these times, I've understood something about the differences in the "spirit" of disco/house sounds between USA and Italy. Somethings are visually silly, as the Italian text in the lyrics... or in the melodies... easy (very easy)... and I think there is a reason... I think Italian peoples (we) have understood badly the "spirit" and the "soul" of disco/house music. We want dance and dance just for fun.... Disco in Italy they don't need a message... just listen for dance and smile... and this is not enough for me !!! Is not the right feeling.... it's just fun-dance... nice tracks, but no more than this... What I've felt from the 70's and 80's sounds (and first House) from USA, played at "Paradise Garage" and "Loft" (or Warehouse), it's a deep message behind the melody and the groove (that is more than enough for me)... what I want to say (and I dont know if I write here the right words, but I'll try), is this.... Songs like "Let yourself go", "I will survive" and "release yourself" they give me a deep message.... directly in my soul... in my heart.... a very strong feeling.... that give me the wants to fly in my dreams... forgetting my real "life problems" ... a message of love, friendliness, peace... I imagine peoples together in a dancefloor without any difference about sex, race and country.... a big feeling of happiness (not fun) !!! Perhaps I'm too emotive, and some of you dont bring my thought (no problems)  I can't imagine how this magic feeling has been in the first USA dancefloors... I can think those days was "magic" !!! I'm very disappointed that most of the Italian peoples dont feel this "message" when they dance... it's a very lacks of sensibility !!! btw.. I'm here.... at home in this web site !!!

I understand perfectly what you are saying above Fagio.
I am from Australia....started djing around 1977 on radio & then clubs from 1978.
In Australia we got music imported from all over the world & got the best of it all.
Soul, Funk & Disco were my favourites.
A couple of years later, disco was on the decline due to the "disco sucks " backlash & there were not those lushly produced disco tracks coming out very often.
All of a sudden we were starving for well produced dance music with lyrics that had soul & meaning to them.
We would buy just about anything that was close enough to it.
That is when a lot of the Italo stuff started coming out.
I didn't warm to it too quickly because I felt the music to be a bit soulless & plonky. There were always the odd exceptions to the rule but Eurodisco was in it's infancy & took a little time to mature.
Eventually some of the cheesiness went out of it & that's when I started enjoying it a bit more.
I'm glad you have found this site Flagio as you can, like me, be schooled on some very wonderful music from the 70s!
Music that has soul, meaning & an irresistable beat & groove that brings like minded people together to celebrate life & love through the art of the dance.

AAHHH< the "magic". It was magic my friend. I can almost cry with thoughts of the the old days. The music that gave us the meaning for our sweat. The art that gave us the meaning for our performance. Making people dance for me with my passion, my heart, my sexual desire, each night, each mix.
You are not to emotional, that is what we are about. That is what this house is about. We want your feelings, your emotions, your experience. I am living off the feelings of Dancer, Soulboy, Darrem, Paul, Claes, Jay and our other brothers. I hope they are all living off of mine. Do not hold back, we all live in the same house of magic!

Pflext, I'm really worried about discoteque destiny in my country... I live near "Versilia" (in Tuscany) where the nightlife have the best expression in Italy (Together with the "Riviera Adriatica".. meaning Rimini/Riccione). and the only sound I can hear here are "Electro Minimal" (I hate it) and commercial dance style (I talk about "ricchi e poveri", "pupo", "Macarena"... we call this style "zibaldone"... a bad mix of the most popular sound in Italy). I'm try to play disco, but the peoples they want listen always the same tracks all the weeks... Ymca, Santa Esmeralda, All night long, September... all the classics disco... beauty off course, but there is a lot of material that I've found here (and in the past years of Internet research). It's really hard looking at peoples in the dancefloor that appreciate this marcellous "historyc" disco style.
