"KEEP ON DANCIN" is a Hall Of Fame classic. That's for sure!

But to me ERIC MATTHEW had more than 15 minutes of fame!
After Gary's Gang he partnered up with DARRYL PAYNE to write & produce some more Disco Classics!!!
These guys were on a roll!!!

"THANKS TO YOU" - Sinnamon -1982
"IT'S ALRIGHT" - NV - 1983
"SURE SHOT" - Tracy Weber - 1980
"REACH UP" - Tony Lee - 1983
"YOU AIN'T REALLY DOWN" - Status IV - 1983
"ON A JOURNEY (SEEN THE FUNK ELECTRIC)" - Electro Funk - 1982
"BEAT THE STREET" - Sharon Redd - 1982
"I NEED YOU NOW" - Sinnamon featuring R.Bernard Fowler - 1983

All 12" that recieved a huge amount of play in clubs all over the world!

Now that's an impressive Disco resume for Eric.
Thanks for the memories Pete!!!

Gary's Gang rocked the house didn't they. Especially those first two initial songs. DO IT AT THE DISCO was another fabulous song. I always thought that these songs were very strong, CLASSICS. They mixed so well with everything. Great group, too bad they did not stick to it.

Here is a great song using a "Gary's Gang' sample:

"CAN'T GET ENOUGH" - Soulsearcher

"YOU AIN'T REALLY DOWN" - Status IV - 1983

I LOVED that record so much I nearly shagged it
Used the accapella to death.

Gary's Gang "Do It At The Disco" had that instrumental ont the B-side. Brilliant!

They had another album out in 1979 Called "Gangbusters" that had a cover of Bill Haleys - "Rock Around The Clock" done in 3/4 time which was interesting. :)

In my view, this was one great group. And KEEP ON DANCIN could be the best disco song ever! I love it to this day.

I loved DOIN IT AT THE DISCO just as much as anything he had done. The 12" indeed had an instrumental, that many used for extended versions. I always expected more from them, but never really got it. Shame.

Agreed! They have some real cool classics but the party was over too soon for 'em!

But I loved their "outfit"!

I was such a huge fan of these guys. And like you others, I am puzzled by them going away so fast. There was a couple of other songs, MAKING MUSIC was one, but they came & went much too fast.
