Trussel - "Love Injection. 1979. Elektra. U.S.
Formed by Bill McGee in the mid 70s', Trussel were a band playing college shows & clubs & were asked to be the touring band for Evelyn "Champagne" King when she first performed "Shame" when she was 15.
A few months later they had their own recording contract.
Produced by Fred Wesley, Trussel had only one album & one hit!

Good One Paul. I remember this. It wasn't anything outstanding, but some played it. Not me!

Robbie Dupree - "Steal Away"
Rupert Holme - "Escape" (The Pina Colada Song)
Also this one. http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=81269
Thrust - "Can't Wait To Get To You" Apexton Records US 1982.
This track used to annihilate my dancefloors. It also had Main/Inst/bonus beats/sound effects so it was always fun to jazz it up live.
It had this great sound effect of a train hurtling from left to right over the dancefloor!

Two good ones Paul. I loved them both. That PINA COLADA song always left me cracking up. It easily could have really happened. And more so today with the internet!

What about "TAKE A CHANCE" & "STOP PLAYING WITH ME".
They didn't make #1 but they jammed! I think her name was Vikki Love.

John Paul Young had many hits, most of them reaching the top of the pop charts in Australia at least.
Other hits I can remember are......
"The Day That My Heart Caught Fire"/"Standing In The Rain"/"Yesterdays hero"/"I Hate The Music"/"Pasadena".

Defranco Family (Feat. Little Tony Defranco) - "Heartbeat, Its a Lovebeat" From 1973.
This was a club hit in Australia due to heavy radio play.
Was it played in clubs overseas?
It's cheesy as all hell but I must admit I did love it when it came out.

Little Tony Defranco certainly had the moves.....
