In What Planet?? Not on this one. Maybe in an alternate Universe. She had a great 1976-77, but ten songs on the charts in 1977? Jay check the bible!!

Single year- MEN AT WORK- These guys from Down Under had a lot of hype prior to their arrival. The first promo 12" did not list an artist, just simply said, WHO CAN IT BE-- Remember!??

"Primal Scream" is the title of an Album by Maynard Ferguson. It featured the classic disco song "Paggliacchi". Circa 1976-77.

Michael Jackson had a great 1980-81. From "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" to "Off The Wall" to "Heartbreak Hotel". It is hard to imagine anyone, not even Donna Summer, have a better year. He was called the KING OF POP after this year.

Let me tell you about Madonna, I once had a night with her. She was an animal in bed. Her greatest hits were in the bedroom. Of course this was only a dream I had, but it was sure real enough!!-- She had a spectacular 1981-82 with her first album. Her second album was pretty good too. But her best work is in the sack!!

ONLY IN MY DREAMS!! That should be Pete's theme song!! LOL The closest he ever came to scoring with Madonna. I know that in her day Madonna was hot, remember her in LIKE A VIRGIN, or in PAPA DON'T PREACH. She was in everyones dreams then.

Hey Pete,
I have played some discs that I consider disco but nobody talks about them on the site.

Jams like:
"BELIEVE" - Cher (lp mix)
"ITS NOT RIGHT, THAT'S OK" - Whitney (Salsoul remix)
"I STILL BELIEVE" - Mariah (12")
"NOBODY SUPPOSED TO BE HERE" - Deborah Cox (12")

These songs are classic disco to me but you guys relegate them to dance status.
Isn't dance = disco.

You ever heard The Salsoul/Retro remix of Whitney??
Sounds like Vince Montana's on it!!!
Isn't that what disco evolved to?

I think DISCO was the daddy of Dance. Also had a few more "children", FREESTYLE, TRANCE, HOUSE, DANCE ORIENTED ROCK. Today's "Dance" is a product of Disco, if the term wasn't so terrifying to the world, maybe it would get called disco. If You can dance to it, you gotta call it Dance? Dance = Disco? YES!!
