After listening to so many of the tracks on here at the "turntable" section, something crossed my mind.

We of the disco era afficionado's will be the first generation who won't be able to fully enjoy the retro come back/reunion shows for so many of our past artists.

It is striking how many people we have danced the night away to have come and gone too soon from this Earth.

Any DJ feel like doing a tribute mix to include all of these beloved artists?

Before I was The VYNIL JUNKIE, I was called PETE THE DICK!! Laugh. Laugh some more. You done yet, no, then laugh some more, I will still be here.......... You done laughing? Alright, for various reasons I welcomed that name. It showed balls, in fact it comes from the Cuban phrase, "EL PINGU", which means, literally THE DICK!! So I became PETE THE DICK. I did what others did not have the "cojones" to do. Mike give me a list of Artists you want, even particular songs, and then I will go to school on it, and see what I come up with!! PETE THE DICK LIVES!!!

I think I heard a CD like that recently. I Think it has been done. If you look around, you'll find it.

Since I have the songs by the artists, I guess hearing what a dj could pull off as a tribute would be the best honor for the memory of these artists.

Off the top of my head:

Sharon Redd
Phyllis Hyman
Sylvester
Patrick Cowley
Laura Branigan
Divine
David Parker
Vicki Sue Robinson
Luther Vandross
Isadora Duncan (Two Tons of Fun/The Weather Girls Fame)
Paul Jabarra
Dan Hartman
Karen "Hot Shot" Young
Glen Huges (leatherman of the Village People)
Freddy Mercury (who did some solo disco songs in the 80's)

I am sure I will recall a few more once the coffee kicks in.

More from the foggy brain cells of middle age.

Gregg Diamond of Bionic Boogie
Barry White

As I crank up my tunes again, I am sure the memory will be jogged again.
