Image....Ministry of Sound (MoS) is one of the most famous nightclubs in the world of electronic music, said to be to London what Studio 54 was to New York, and whose fame goes far across English borders. Located in Elephant and Castle, Southwark, South London, and officially opened in 1992 after weeks of ‘secret’ club nights the Ministry had already been packed out through word-of-mouth, Ministry of Sound was one of the key locations in the development of house music and superclubs in Britain in the early 1990s. MoS initially set itself apart from other London nightclubs of the time with its location well away from London clubland, a non-alcoholic bar and a highly-acclaimed sound system; all features designed to attract an enthusiastic crowd of music lovers. DJs mix live sets on Friday and Saturday each week. The MoS boasts two spacious dance floors as well as a Sony PlayStation room and Absolut chill bar.
Image...Ministry of Sound was founded by Jamie Palumbo, Humphrey Waterhouse and DJ Justin Berkmann. It is still largely owned and controlled by Jamie Palumbo, son of property developer Lord Peter Palumbo. Since the club’s opening, the MoS brand has been extended to a number of other areas. Profits from the brand put Palumbo on the Sunday Times Rich List 2004, with an estimated worth of £136m. The club opened in the Autumn of 1991.

Image.....In recent times, the Ministry of Sound brand has expanded with franchise clubs being opened in Asia, and club tours taking place worldwide. MoS Taipei (No. 310, LenQun 3rd. Rd., Taipei, Taiwan) opened March 25, 2004 and MoS Singapore (Block C The Cannery, River Valley Rd, Clarke Quay, Singapore 179022) opened December 16, 2005. The former MoS Bangkok nightclub (Sukhumvit Soi 11, Bangkok, Thailand) (2002–03), the first club outside the UK, is now closed. A new MoS club in Moscow is slated to open in March 2007.

What a booth!! Did I count SIX turntables, two cd turntables, four mixers?? Incredible! You need more then one deejay at one time? I could have a little fun there. Could I play with your toys? I bet I could play everything at once!! LOL-- ON BEAT TOO!!

YO RAY!! Can you tell me what you see? Even in the corners it looks like there is something. What is that in the middle with the two large knobbs?

Well it looks to me as

8 turntables
1 Pioneer CDJ1000 Turntable CD Player
1 laptop
The thing with the two big knobs looks like the contoller to a dual cd deck Denon DN-2600F dual cd deck cnotroller.
The thing to the left of the DN-2600F like a Rane MP 2016a Rotary Mixer with the matching Rane XP 2016a External Processor below it, to the right of DN-2600F looks like a Rane MP 44 Club Mixer. The first mixer is a Rane MP 24.
To the far left and right of the booth are the light show controllers.

So it appears that three djs can jam at the same time.

That's about all I can attempt to identify.
How'd I do?

You did well Ray. That's how I view the console.
It's fantastic to have all that set up & integrated. It allows djs to crossover each other without getting in each others way which is a good thing these days when setting up your additional equipment which by the time you set it all up properly can take 20-30 mins. :?
Also good for dj battles & stuff where you may have up to four djs playing @ the same time. Like the UK Scratch Perverts.

I was fortunate enough to play MOS as part of a Heart Foundation benefit back in 1995. It was in the other bar upstairs as that's all the foundation had organised. I remember finishing my set to a rapturous applause & then running downstairs to see Darren Emmerson play. It was a rockin' room & an amazing feeling to be "housed up" in that space. :D

Here's a video of a night at MOS with a cute lady dj. Booth looks to be in a different configuration.

It sure is.
The photo you posted above looks very recent. It certainly didn't look like that in 1995 when I was there. It looked much more basic @ the time.
As to when that video was shot.....who knows? Might have been 4- 5 years ago. :?
What track is she playing? That might lend a clue as to when.

The video was posted January 29, 2007.

The dj is called "miss nine". I guess cause she needs at least that to satisfy her

Here's another video of her @ Club Colosseum.

She is cute! And that is not the same booth is it? At least not the equipment in it. That booth on the video could be a one person operation. But not the one on Mike's picture. That is at least a two deejay operation. Anyhow back to "Miss Nine". She was jammin! Cute as a button. Young! OHH, what I would give to have 25 years back!!

ok genious, I mean Soul_Boy

You got some help from somewhere. You didn't get all that by looking at the picture

Kidding a side, what about the picture of the booth with the 8 TT's? What's all the stuff you see or know of? I just took an educated guess of what I thought I saw.

RayJ..

You are right my friend....got the info from the M.O.S. London site....i am not clever enough to identify all the equitment...as for the photo of one of the dj booths ....you were indeed right with your assumptions as i can confirm the likes of all the PIONEER & RANE equitment are correct. There would be no way that i could name the equitment in the photo by sight alone, i would have to do more research..As for your good self Ray...you have my utmost repect for being able to name all the equitment by sight alone and without any research.....Hats Off! to you Ray...you certainly know your s**t...BTW...did you enjoy looking at the tech lay-out or what?

My respect!

...to be continued

YES!!!!
It freaking outrageous!

So I guess the layout in the picture is no more? I thought it was a little overkill, wouldn't you say? A two dejay set up would've been fine but three?

RayJ,
I think the photo was taken in 2007..As mentioned before the layout constantly changes to suit needs of the night..When my friend was there last he told me that there was also a line of PIONEER CDJ'S above the turntables...talk about overkill or what!......think there must have been a "Battle OF The Dj's" night when that photo was taken or something like that...One things for sure....You, Jay & Pete would fit snuggly in there....now that would be a sight for sore eyes! LOL....
