During my years of DJ-ing in the 70s I have had streaks of getting good music. In the early days if you discovered 10 new every night songs to play in a month, you were good. Maybe 2 or 3 of these would be GIANT HALL OF FAME Hits!!!
That was good. Then the Disco Era came into full bloom in 1975-76 and we were getting music every week---good music--but Hall Of Fame Music would come maybe every month once or twice. Now by reading Vince Aletti's DISCO FILES book I am remembering a period of time when GIANT HUGE HIT HALL OF FAME MUSIC came out every week!!!
It was like Christmas every day!!! Check this out; check out how every week we had a present:

May 14:
"Sweet Dynamite"- Claudia Barry
"Doctor Love" 12"-First Choice
"Magic Bird Of Fire" 12"-Salsoul Orchestra

May 28:
"I Feel Love"-Donna Summer-LP Mix
"Devil's Gun" LP-CJ & Company

June 4:
"Cerrone's Paradise"-Cerrone
Love & Kisses - LP

June 11:
"Runaway"-Salsoul Orchestra-LP-Magic Journey
"Carry On Turn Me On"-Space
"Hit & Run" 12"-Loleatta Holloway

June 18:
"Disco Champs" Trammps Remix LP
"Get On The Funk Train"-Munich Machine
Roy Ayers Ubiquity LP with "Running Away"

July 2:
"African Queens" LP-Ritchie Family
"Two Hot For Love" - THP Orchestra
"Let's Clean Up The Ghetto"-Philly All Stars/MFSB

July 16:
Village People - LP

July 23:
"Choosing You"/"Please Don't Tempt Me" 12"-Lenny Williams
"Over & Over" 12"-Sylvester

July 30:
"Music"-Montreal Sound
"Journey Into Love/Magic Fly"-Kebelelektrik

August 6:
"I Feel Love" Bobby DJ Extended 12"-Donna Summer
"Cocomotion" - El Coco

August 13:
"From Here To Eternity"-LP-Giorgio

Now that's a streak!!!! Not to mention all the other great songs that came out with them!!!!
Followed in September with Roy Ayers' "Runnibg Away" Remix--Santa Esmerelda LP--Grace Jones LP--"Native New Yorker" 12" by Odyssey--Philly Classics LP--Meco's "Star Wars, etc.....
and on & on!!!!

Working at 'Tropicalia' that year and the next was never a dull moment for music!!!!!!

Ok Jay..time to give you a ball-ache of a question!
There was so much quality that was getting released in a short time period during 1977. So what was your personal top 3 tunes of 1977...Now I know what you are like Jay..I only want your top 3, so no trying to sneak in your top 10...top 3 only!..Lol

That was GREAT Jay. Everyone of those tunes gave me a flashback. I was working at Gatsby,s in Brooklyn and then Tribeca in NYC during that time. Also, 1977 was the year of the blackout and the Son of Sam.
