There will be a few guys here that are familiar with this idea, for those that are not, please let me explain.... I will post two different artists singing the same song. You simply have to give your vote on which version you prefer. Elaborate a little in your choice and tell us why you prefer one version to the other. Will leave the post up for a couple of days and then we will count the votes and announce the winner. Ok!.Let's get started with our first "Disco Face Off!" with..DISCO FACE OFF! #1RARE PLEASURE - "LET ME DOWN EASY" (1976)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuVZiFHvJEE 'V'FIRST CHOICE - "LET ME DOWN EASY" (1979)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHvoR2VXTYE

OK,let's wellcome ''Disco Face Off''!!!Great idea my friend Soul-Boy ''Let Me Down Easy'' is one of my all-time favourite songs, this piano hook sounds great even in a house song (''Needin' You'' - David Morales ) The first version is by Rare Pleasure is good but for me the First Choice version is the best

Rare Pleasure's version is a great track that I love dearly but the First Choice version just edges for me as it a pure slice of classic disco!
Starting to look like a landslide for First Choice so far, 3-0 in there favour!

I would have to go with First Choice for this one. Rare Pleasure may have paved the way but First Choice lift the song to another level.

when I heard the first track I thought this was going to be a close one, but even with a scratchy recording, First Choice nails it. more dynamic vocals - plus it's funkier too!
great game idea, Mikey!

The Soul-Boy has been down with LD from day one and a'int nothing gonna change now, the man always takes me back to my roots...Odyssey sang some killer tracks like Inside Out & Native New Yorker so I don't want to dismiss there talents to lightly, I just though that there version got played out and was a little on the poppy side for my tastes!..

Looks like Lamont Dozier wins by a landslide..Here we go then with Disco Face Off #3..DISCO FACE OFF #3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcDj46elLhQ'V' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjW1iq4IO2k Mick Jackson wrote "Blame It On The Boogie"...Fact!... His record company saw the potential of the track, so they brought it to the 1978 Midem Music Festival in Cannes, France. The Jacksons manager was searching for potential hits for the Jacksons,he flipped when he heard this track and of course the coincidence between names. This angle was picked up by the press at a later date, which lead to a great promotional angle to the track. The band were rushed in to the studios to record "Blame It On The Boogie" before Mick Jackson could release his version. Both Mick Jacksons & The Jacksons versions were released in the space of a couple of days of one another. The press dubbed it at the time as "The Battle Of The Boogie" In the UK Charts Micks version reached #15 while The Jacksons reached #8 In the US Charts Micks version reached #61 and The Jacksons reached #54 However in 1979 with the release of the 12" single "Blame It On The Boogie" / "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)..this reached #20 in The Club Play Singles Charts in the US ..
