A dj on the same wavelength as his audience is a good thing.

All 3 tracks are superb & rate very highly with me.

Mr. DJ can I request World Premiere - "Share The Night"?

A great early morning track apart from the fact it has the word "night" in it

Good stuff George. Excellent stuff, even those last two, that never were hits in the states. Interesting cuts. Thanks for this good morning music!

Great tracks Dancer---I'm glad you was sort of late--gives me time to set up Ladies Night (Lisa's gonna be there tonight).

Another reason I'm glad you're late----
then you wouldn't have taken requests---
and then I would not have been turned on to "SHARE THE NIGHT"

WHAT A KILLER TRACK!!! Brand new to me!!!!

Thanks Pflex & Thanks Dancer.

KILLER is right Jay. The 12" has an instrumental dub & bonus beats too.

It was relesed in the US in 1983 on the Easy Street label.
It was mixed by Jonathan Fearing & Engineered by Jay Mark. The keyboards were done by Fred Zarr.
That's why it sounds so polished.
Fred Zarr I believe did stuff with One Way & played keyboards on Jocelyn Brown - "Somebody Elses Guy" too.

Johnathan Fearing & Fred Zarr!!!
Never can do no wrong with these guys!!---Fred was on many tracks in the early 80s, including if I remember right (memory is sketchy) Visual, Sharon Redd, & 'D' Train on Prelude records and Rocker's Revenge on Streetwise label.
He did alot with Arthur Baker.

Johnathan did a mix for The Evasions called "WIKKA WRAP" that I love.
He did a number of 12"s for Sam Records that were good too.

"WIkka Rap"!! Good Gracious me! Almost forgot about that one. Guilty as charged.

C'mon Soul-Boy .....tell 'em all about "Whikers World".....The TV series.

My memory is a bit faded & I don't have the single anymore to check but I believe it borrowed heavily from 2 Tom Browne tracks - "Thighs High "(To The Sky) & "Funkin' For Jamaica"

The Wikka Rap was actually a pisstake record.
You may be able to d/l it here.

http://www.bubblegum-machine.com/week20.html

The guy who presented the show was Alan Whicker. Very popular TV series in the UK which ran for nearly 30 years I believe.

The guy doing the rap on Wikka Wrap is using a voice that sounds very much like Alan Whicker........hence the name Wikka Wrap.

As previously mentione it borrows from Tom Browne & Chic.
As far as I know they paid no royalties for any tracks. :o I also seem to recall that I read somewhere in some mag BITD that Tom Browne had a chat with them about it & got paid off to not sue.
It was originally released in the UK & then SAM released it in the U.S. shortly afterwards with an edit by Jonathon Fearing.
There's that name again. We should do a thread on him. :)
I'll get on it.
