Alright, we are hearing this term a lot now. Let's see if I got this right. NuDisco is a style of new music, that sounds like 70's disco?? Is that right? Well if that is true. Can I drive? I want to take this Bull by the horns, and bring it to the center of the ring, show everyone its power as it gets released. This could be our chance to revive our beloved disco. If NuDisco is good, we'll play it right along with our other Disco music! Bring it on!! Show me, show us, what is NuDisco! I looked it up on YouTube, and this is what I got. This is lame. There has to be better stuff out there!!??? Where is it?

There has to be better stuff then these sound effects!!?? Show me!!

If this is NuDisco, then, that's more like it. Is this NuDisco?? sounds like same stuff he did a few years ago. Old disco songs, done "NuDisco"?? Is that it? Anyhow, anyone know how to get ahold of Benny , he needs to join this site. Get me a lead, I'll get him here!

It depends on yours and dj interpretations of what Nu-Disco is. The tracks that Jimmy & Pete posted are not my interpretation of Nu-Disco but more like a branch of house music than disco,

Check out this following track which is about 8-9 mins long. The disco elements dont kick in till about the 3-4 min mark but it has a bass-line to die for. The disco purists may not like it but this type of disco has merit for me...

I Like as well! Is this considered NuDisco then? I need a dictionary explanation of NuDisco? Mike what you put up, is maybe Chocolate Fudge while Benny is Vanilla. Am I right?

This is a hard one to define Pete as there are so many variations. For example.there is the HED KANDI albums that consist of funky house tunes that have disco elements in them. Then you got the likes of Dj MEME who will take a club song of today and give it a remix that will turn the track into a slice of pure disco heaven. Then you have the likes of other modern producer/remixers who call there style or music Nu-Disco which just sounds like a cool brand name to me as it has no relavance to traditional disco music...I think the best thing to remember is that if it sounds like disco it is disco no matter how mordern it is....This could be a debate that could run on and on...define Nu-Disco........for me, you gotta get DANCER in on this one as he has his finger on the pulse more than me!

Here Is another killer cut example of modern disco for me....

ULTRA NATE - "GET IT UP" (FULL INTENTION REMIX)

PETE'S NOTE:: Sounds like disco to me!

You see Mike, through the years, I always played what I knew the masses would dance to, and I lumped that into the term"disco". So then what you just told me, is that despite a term change to "NuDisco" it's still Disco to me, you know, maybe there's a song there> Like IT'S STILL ROCK N ROLL TO ME by Billy Joel. Only, IT'S DISCO TO ME!! Anyhow, so "NuDisco" is a new term for dance music AKA Disco??? RIGHT??

Its as simple as that to me Pete but like I say other people will have valid opinions as well so this debate will roll on for that I am sure!

The 1st 2 posts on this thread to me were not 'Nu-Disco'--they were electro dance and that stuff on most of the UltraDance or the UltraTrance mixes.

"GROOVEJET" is nu-disco.
"SALSOUL NUGGET" is nu-disco.
"I GET POWER" is nu-disco.
UltraNate, Barbara Tucker, Incognito, Nuyorican Soul, Jamiroquai, Bob Sinclar, along with the 4 tracks I put on 'Song Of The Night' Thursday are examples of nu-disco.

In addition to the disco rhythms, disco hooks, lush arrangements, they also need to have a vocalist that inspires!!!!

The videos posted here seem to be more classical house in my opinion.

Nu-Disco artists have a very broad range of influences, and they like to blend a lot of things into their tracks, but their main influence is disco. The style is more downtempo and spacey than classic disco/house.
This is a mix album by Lindstrom: http://www.discogs.com/release/1018530 As you can see, a lot of different styles on it.

Two guys who many consider to be the pioneers of this style are Prins Thomas and Lindstrom from Norway. They are both DJ's and really good producers too. And, I doubt, they would even consider listening to Benassi, it is so not them.

I absolutely love this style!!

Here are some examples of Nu-Disco:

Thanks Adrock! That is a different flavor all together. Mellower, but with disco elements in it. I like that too! Is this, another flavor, altogether?
