I go with YAZ and SITUATION. Jay is right, MADONNA did not belong there! But it was extremely popular!!

You may have your opinion of Madonna and BORDERLINE, but I heard it played everywhere, by everyone. With that said, I pick DON'T YOU WANT ME BABY!! Now YAZ was really strong and long-lasting. But not longer then the Human League's biggest hit. I feel these all were exceptional songs, and a really hard choice! there you have it!

"BORDERLINE" made it to #10 on the pop charts, #4 on the Dance charts, sold over 1/2 million singles, certified GOLD RIAA in 1984. I'm not debating the popularity of the tune.
When I played it at private parties, everybody liked it, but hardly nobody danced. It was not a floor filler, nor a screamer! You never heard or seen: "oooooohhh BORDERLINE is on, let's go tear the floor up!"
It was more like: "oh, Borderline is on, let's go get a drink"

I pick MADONNA and Borderline, because it was more popular then any of the other two. But we are really splitting hairs. All three kicked ass!!

According to the RIAA The Human League sold slightly more than Madonna's tune. Both sold over 1/2 million singles. Yazoo had no such luck, not even making Billboard's Top 40.
Can't believe you played Borderline Pete. Go put it on now, tell me how it feels, see if you can play it to the end. (hehehehe)

I love Madonna! Got all her shit. I am a big fan of Madonna---I am proud to play her shit anytime--even her latest---It's HOT!! -except Borderline. I was serious, go play that song now and see how long you can honestly groove to it. Go crank it on the headphones---the long version, and tell me how long you stay.
PETE'S NOTE:: Do I have to? Phuck it, you're right, the song sucks!! You happy. Now She won't give me any tonight; after I pass out, and have my nightly visit from her!! YOU DICK!! LOL

Just like that dyke Debbie Gibson used to sing, "ONLY IN YOUR DREAMS" would Madonna pay attention to you!
PETE'S NOTE:: She visits me everynight. I sleep good! And the restraining order she has against me proves she paid attention!! LOL

Guys,
Just like most of you I'll vote for Human League's "Don't You Want Me"...
This was probably one of the easiest so far...
Personally I love the SweMix remix as put to vinyl by the late Denniz PoP (who was involved in the early Backstreet Boys and Britney tracks).
Listen to a small clip of this remix
Just love how the male and female answers one another...

PS. Pete you need the free RealPlayer to listen - download it HERE

I don't know who did it first but we all did that "answer back" thing With Human League back in the day.
I am glad the idea was immortalised in his mix though.
It always used to put a smile on peoples faces when we did it & you could actually see the boys & girls on the floor singing it to each other.
That was also back in the days when people still faced each other when they danced.
I used to love the other track Yazoo had out called "State Farm". Very big in Australian clubs also.
