Could we go five for five? My choice is.... FUNKYTOWN by Lipps Inc. This was spectacularly big in Boston. See, that song was written about Beantown, we are FUNKYTOWN!!

I never understand the dislike for Lipps Inc. OK, it has been overplayed but I pick 'em too!
I never liked Abba's "Dancing Queen". Too sugary, too mellow and Viola Wills was cool but a little Disco, light version.
The car horn, the infectuous percussion: Lipps Inc. We Inc. ones stand up for each other, you know!

Here we are again, this time let's see which one you are picking.
1) Have A Cigar- ROSEBUD
2) Sunset People-DONNA SUMMER
3) H.A.P.P.Y. Radio- EDWIN STARR
For me it has to be Edwin Starr as he is one of my favourite vocalists & live acts of all time. He settled in the UK i think in the late 70's so i had the good fortune too see him peform live on numerous occassions. Loved H.A.P.P.Y. RADIO and his other disco smash GONTACT...guaranteed floor fillers in the UK

This is a very tough choice, I go with the United States defending champion, FUNKYTOWN over the European challenger. This will be a bloody battle since both these songs are so associated with the Disco Era. I understand how impressive DANCING QUEEN was, but wasn't FUNKYTOWN like the parting shot of the era?
