They sound like a great start to the day. Glad to see FANTASY there! Bad start to my day, the little one MYA got ahold of her sisters razor, and shaved her eyebrows off. I am pissed!

In the city of Newcastle (UK), we have about 300+ bars & clubs and 3 university campus's in a 4 mile radiuds. Alot of these outlets have 70's themed nights that tend to play all the commercial tunes (Abba, Village People, Sister Sledge etc.). These can be fun nights out but they tend to become a little predictable and repetative. However, there is about a dozen late bars that play a combination of soul, funk & disco tunes all night long. These are the places where i tend to frequent Infact was out again last night sipping sweet cocktails...maxin' & relaxin'....was in good compay to boot....enjoyed the following,
Double Exposure "Everyday"
The Dells "All About The Paper"
Shalamar "Right In The Socket"
Hamilton Bohanon "Lets Start The Dance part 2 "
A Good noght had by all!

That's what I'm talkin about Soul-Boy! Predictable & repetative. I hate that crap! We don't have a 70's club market over here--few & far between! ...and I love "EVERYMAN" Double Exposure. One of my all time jams! DJ Walter Gibbons used to kill this tune in '76-'77 in an After Hours called Galaxy 21 in NYC.

Jay,
Gotta agree with "Everyman" as being a monster tune. Was one of the first 12" records i ever bought on import when i was 15 back in Sept 1979. Would you believe, it was not untill the summer of 2001 that i actually heard it played in a club and the dj in question was US dj Kenny Carpenter who was touring the UK at the time. Happy days!!!!

It has to be afternoon now over there! You sleep late! LOL-- Your start is pretty good. I am listening to the TIGER LEE/DJRayJ mixed set from The Ranch House. The songs are not as cool as your selections, but these are mixed so well! Good start to the day.

"MUSIC & LIGHTS" is one of my all time favs. Imagination's follow up to "JUST AN ILLUSION" used to rock me even more!!! When they came out with this 12" it put Imagination over the top as far as I was concerned. It's their US labels that didn't push them enough. The public over here were not Imagination fans as I was. Yes, they loved "JUST AN ILLUSION", "BURNING UP",and "SO GOOD SO RIGHT" (all produced by Tony Swain & Steve Jolley) Their first US label MCA (and then in '83 Electra) did not release and push certain tracks that I thought were essential to Imagination fans. "HEART & SOUL", "MUSIC & LIGHTS", "STATE OF LOVE" and "THIS MEANS WAR" as good as they were, was panned and played sporadically by clubs & radio here. "CHANGES" 12" remixed by Larry Levan got some club play here--->but no radio! Imagination had sort of a quick comeback in '87 with "INSTINCTUAL" which was a great great club tune in it's David Morales remix!

I am groovin to the vocal LOVE'S THEME by the girls of Love Unlimited. I liked that version even more then the instrumental original. It had a more pronounced drum beat, a little bit more "hustle" then the other. I was so glad to hear it on PINK LADY'S set from the ranch house. Great track!
