Jay,
It is all your fault, you played "Girls" on a CD you sent me, I heard it. It stuck in my mind all of yesterday, last night and even when I was sleeping this morning. It eventually woke me up. I went tho THE ROOM, and searched, finally found the album. Guess what, not only do I have it, I have four copies, two in English, two in French. So at the next mixing session, I will remix them all and create an English & French version, twice, maybe three times as long, and inter-change the vocals! And I hope that will exercise the demon from my mind!! All your fault!!

I am grooving to the entire CRISTINA LP. This KID CREOLE inspired work totally rocks. It has six songs on the album. Everyone of them rocks. As you will soon find out after I play them all in my next set from The Ranch House! This could be the birth of KID CREOLE!

When "GIRLS" came out (1974), it took awhile before I found a good copy to play. The US 45 was in mono, I hated that. The album was too low. I finally found a Canadian 45 that was in stereo and great (12" like) quality! All "Stang/All Platinum" 45s at the time were in poor audio quality in the US: including:
"GIRLS" - Moments & Whatnauts
"SHAME SHAME SHAME" - Shirley & Company
"HEY THERE SEXY LADY" - Hank Ballard
"WHERE DID OUR LOVE GO" - Donnie Elbert
"IN THE BOTTLE" - Brother To Brother
They all sounded like they were recorded in my mama's basement!

Yeah, I love the French way!! I mean version!- This was a big hit, when I was a little girl in Philly. The Moments! Later called,"Ray Goodman & Brown" who had a number of hits, mostly ballads! Great stuff. I am currently grooving to NASTY GIRLS! by Vanity and her girls. Great act, then Vanity found religion and ruined it all!

Way to go Pink Lady. See guys, she has brains too. Few of you out there knew that!-- While they were great, and actually neighbors of mine in Jersey, I am not grooving to them today. Today it is, WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN, quite possibly the most UNDER-RATED disco song of all time. It does not ever get the credit it deserves. After all, this was #1 on AM radio's WABC for almost three months. Remember Cousin Brucey, and Pat Paterson(I Later worked with him at Club Mystique, where he was Food & Beverage Director, had a fine daughter named Michelle) and was credited for all the success of the club. He had nothing to do with it, except give his OK to the early 5PM start time during the week.
