Hi Guys & Gals (again) !!

OK, as I just post about your favorite opening song, I need to get to hear about your closing tune as well...
I know many places use to end the night with sleaze or ballads - so your favorite closing tune might be anything from ballad to a Disco smacker like Melba Moore's "This Is It" (which is a classic final track).
But which songs are your closing ace ?

Disco-on !

Through my 25 plus years at Clubs, in NYC, it was ALWAYS, FRANK SINATRA's NEW YORK,NEW YORK! When DONNA SUMMER came out with ,"Last Dance", many deejays(Including JELLYBEAN in his TOWNHOUSE 48 days) made that the song. It was my next to last song. In Miami, I played FRANK until in 83 or 84 when THE CURLEY SHUFFLE came out! I played that at CLUB MYSTIQUE. Then afterwards, back to NEW YORK,NEW YORK!!-PETE

I will go with, Donna Summer also. If it was good enough for JELLYBEAN, "last Dance" is good enough for me.

Depends on the crowd but I always liked "Just Us" by Two Tons of Fun.

I have also run "Time Waits for No One" (Jean Carne) when I'm feeling more nostalgic :D

Up until last year. Tough to find disco nights, everythig is hip hop and top forty. When you find retro gigs they are usually Bee Gees/ Donna Summer types of parties and I like to go a little deeper. Love to drag out those 45's lol !!
Also forgot to mention Daylight (both versions) Womack/Robinson!!!! :D

I'm in NY. Sure I played "Last Dance" but I preferred the less obvious. I always loved to try and leave them with something to think about. Not saying it always worked but you would get some that picked up the vibe :D

Well, let me chime in here. Believe or not my closing song for the last few years I was deejay at a club was from the Beatles 1967-1970 album.
"Hello, Goodbye "

NO! NO! NO! No way can a DISCO Deejay from the TDI School of Deejays end a night with THE BEATLES!! Against the oath you swore to when you graduated!! No excuses!! It has to be FRANK!! You have been found guilty, and I sentence you to 47 hours locked in a bathroom, with three 18" speakers, that must be cracked, playing a continuous loop of "The Curley Shuffle" for the entire 74 hours. You can start serving your 52 hour term at your earliest bathroom visit! Hope you learn your lesson! Ray, you should have known better!

I'm not from f--king New York! If Frank had a Florida tune then "maybe" I would've played it. Besides, a deejay can play anything to get the staggered out and you can't go wrong with the Beatles, the greatest band ever!

I will gladly serve my sentence under protest, (I snuck in a porn mag of Kylie Minogue):)

Guys !

Even if I wouldn't have played Beatles myself I still have to say that Ray's choice have kind of a clear message and if Ray could get away with Beatles in the clubs he played then I guess "Hello, Goodbye" is kind of clever. Maybe I've got to spend time in a bathroom for this - so Ray - can you please lend me that Kylie mag... :D
I guess I agree with Ray regarding Frank's "NY NY", probably great in NYC, but doubt people everywhere else might appreciate it as much...
But "Last Dance" and "This Is It" are still great and I think you've all come up with many good suggestions. So keep 'em comin'...

OH, seeing DJ Chulo's post above...
That just reminded me of Cher's "Take Me Home" !! That's a message for the last desperate minutes in a club. But maybe not a song to end a night with, or ???
