When I was spinning for Pete at the crib, he requested a song that I haven't played in over 25 years:
"OUTER SPACE" by Billy Preston.
At first I balked, but when I played it I was turned on all over again. What a bass line and a funky groove; I was dancin my ass off!!!!!
It's gonna go on my next PRE-Disco set!!!

It's a monster jam! Maybe it's the record to play in 2012 when the earth will be destroyed. Our Last Dance, jammin' and a-freakin', bop till' we drop!

Far out!

I was telling Pete that "GUT LEVEL" was a big tune in 1976 and that it charted in the top 10 Disco Chart. Pete asked me if I knew anybody that played it. I said no, and he didn't either.
Now we found one----Hippie Torales.
By the way, Hippie I was playing "FALL INTO A TRANCE" the other day!

Yes Pete. Think it's Gagnon though.

PETE'S NOTE:: You are correct, of course.

Anyone remember Tony Valor album inst versions of all the songs on the Mary Ann Farra & Satin Soul album. Use to mix the 2 since same musicians played on both. Seems the inst were just taken from the vocal album.

Tony Valor is my wife's producer. I always played his music. EXTREME disco I would call it. Not bad from a NYC Cop! SATIN SOUL was excellent. And his own TONY VALOR Orchestra had all the instrumental versions. I will feature them at the next Ranch House session. Remember STONED, OUT OF MY MIND!! Time for a fatty!!
