Hi there,

You're sure your not looking for "the Hustle" by Van McCoy ? Huge hit from 1975, mostly instrumental with some "Do the Hustle" thrown in sometimes.
Else I can't recall any "the Shuffle"...

Good luck and Disco-on !

Maybe it is THE HUSTLE, certainly hope so. Because there was a 7" record called THE SHUFFLE in early 1976. It was by some local band called"The Moonlights" in Asbury Park, New Jersey. And it was on a label called "House Wax" with the Catalog number 001. I don't think there was ever a 002. Never had radio play, and I certainly never played it. But it was for sale in Jersey record stores (even though I believe only family and friends bought it), and I somehow got a copy. I am certain I DID NOT BUY IT!!! Poor is too good an adjective to describe it. Do I still have it? Yes, it is part of an end table I made in 1985 out of the worse vinyl ever released!!

FURNITURE, by definition it is vinyl. But I can attest that Pete Denis has in fact made FURNITURE out of bad vinyl, I have seen it, and used it. A large couch, a large dining room table and six chairs. A lounging TV chair . He would put cushions on them, and it worked great. Don't think he has them anymore.

Van McCoy did a track called The Shuffle too - been described as a cheap rip-off of his own The Hustle. I for one kinda agree...

MANHATTAN SKYLINE??? Of Course, it was PLAYED in a lot of Clubs. was not a HUGE Disco Classic, but it received plenty of play in many Clubs World Wide. Fact is that almost every song from that Soundtrack got played!! You had too! It was such a great Soundtrack, and sold so many copies, that everything on it got played. Not every deejay or club played everything. But enough did!

MAKES YOU BLIND by The Glitter Band? I thought it was Gary Glitter. Was it an instrumental on the flip side?
---------------------------------------------------------
LOVE IS THE MESSAGE by MFSB is one of the best.
BUT.... How about LOVE'S THEME & MY SWEET SUMMER SUITE? They certainly were better then some of the ones you listed.
-------------------------------------------------------
You did include MAGIC BIRD OF FIRE
How about UNDERWATER by Harry Thurman?

Ed?? Isn't the word FAVORITE in use here? As an English teacher, you do realize what Favorite means? There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of instrumental songs that were great. So which are yours?
