There were many great slows in the disco era. in my opinion they were part of disco. Santa Esmeralda's you're my Everything was a super hit in Miami, so was The Stylistics' "I Can't Give You Anything (But My Love)" .

There were so many more.

I think that it was many nice soul themes very influenced by Disco-sound in 70-s and 80-s.
It was not disco examples. But it was so related in context of disco culture.

I certainly am not a fan of HEAVY METAL. So do not even think of bringing that sh** on this forum, PLEASE!! DISCO!! DISCO!! So great, Claes named it twice! As for SLOW JAMS, it was a huge part of the music played. Early evening, a great change of pace, end of the night. Anytime someone made it worth the effort, if you know what I mean. So I played the best slows. I even MIXED ballads!! Think about it!! Remember the EUROPA and CARELESS WHISPERS mix???

And I think that it is too many Rock themes (not so heavy) are in border upon Disco sound. Or very influenced by that.
For example:
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - I Came For You
Babys - Everytime I Think Of You
Chris De Burgh - High On Emotion
Toto - Hold The Line
Eddie Money - Two Tickets To Paradise
Gary Moore - Always Gonna Love You
Glenn Frey - The Heat Is On
Hall & Oates - Private Eyes
Huey Lewis And The News - Back In Time
Kenny Loggins - I'm Free
Knack - My Sharona
Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
Phil Collins - Easy Lover
Journey - Any Way You Want It
Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Robert Palmer - Simply Irresistable
Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart
John Cafferty - Hearts On Fire
Van Halen - Jump
and many others.
