Now understand this, this is not a bad song, I enjoyed it. Loved the percussion, what little of it there is. Those are BONGO Drums you hear throughout the song. Few tracks "feature" BONGOS. But the dance floor lost momentum. It was packed, now there is room as some left it. From management standpoint, it is alright, they sell some drinks to those that left. But you got to keep that dance floor busy. So your next song is very important . Got to come in strong with a huge Floor Packer. Your job is on the line! Make the right choice MAN! BTW, you get your VISA yet?? We need a good deejay at TRH.

This is interesting. It extremely hard to understand that English they are singing, maybe because they are Italian. Not Bad, you did not lose anyone from the dance floor, but they are looking at each other in wonderment! No one else came on the floor. So it is not a hit, but playable. Where are my requests!! Or you the kind of deejay that does not take requests??---- Just saw the video, interesting, no Black people in Italy??

The Lyrics of it ....

Hypnotic tango, tango, tango!

Stuck in my seat, can't move, no way
The other guys knows the game to play
I'm watchin' her, I'm watchin' me, I'm gettin' brave
Oh, take him apart, say listen to me

Look on the floor and all is spinning round
Someone told me this was just a dance
And take a chance I ain't met before
Do you think I really have a chance? (x 2)

Hypnotic tango, tango, tango!

Rough Diamond he smiles, she looks at him
Ain't gonna be no story in love
Take me to the dancefloor by the hand
Give me this night in a foreign land

Look on the floor and all is spinning round
Someone told me this was just a dance
And take a chance I ain't met before
Do you think I really have a chance? (x 2)

You are acting strange. You just emptied the dance floor?? Why? With all the great music I KNOW you have, you gave us "Tribal" music, in the middle of a great set?? Now, I found the video interesting. It looks like a third world Latin American country. I thought it could be Cuba for a second, but then I saw the soccer ball, Cuba does not play soccer. Also the cars and trucks are too modern. This song was pretty bad for a Disco. I mean, if I was home, smoking some hash, it might be good. But I am not, and it is not either! MAN!! Where are my requests!! That will pack the floor! I promise!

Mr. Pete, you and USA not aware of this music. This music is good in the other parts of world. Did you listen to download? Much better than video. It is not bad track. Maybe not dance music as you know.

PETE'S NOTE::You can prick me with all your needles and I still won't like this song, either version.

I said it's bonus track I did not count it :( , I am alwyas trying to put some deferent kind of music and try to chose something that could be new for some people here , it's very easy to me to put some hits that we all know them, Deep Forest is a group consisting of two French musicians and did some hits like Sweet Lullaby which sail over 3 Milionis Copies , and Lp Bohime 4 miliones copies , they offers a great music in there kind.

You killin' it now MAN!!!!
"DEEP IN VOGUE" is one of my 'essential' 12" in my collection. The bass beat is haunting. It has a touch of "LOVE IS THE MESSAGE" in there.
I love BOTH the long version and the short mix.
In the US it was released by Epic in I think '89 or '90. (I don't remember-It was during my dark days)
I still got my 12"!!!

What a welcome departure from Malcom McLaren's previous releases: "BUFFALO GALS" & "HEY DJ".

I think that Deep On Vogue are more 90's house than pure disco. But sounds good. I like it! :D
Buffalo Gals and Hey D.J. - really great themes! I collected similar old-school music in mp3. Miraculous electro hip-hop sound of 80's!

Hey MAN. I love the stuff you've posted....very eclectic.....a man of all tastes.....I like an open mind.

Never heard that Kung fu soundalike .........very cool.

My Mines "Hypnotic Tango" was quite big in the clubs here....not all clubs but some.....thanks mainly to us djs' who bought 2 copies & tranced everyone out on it!
It had a dub/ instrumental on the b side that we used to extend certain sections.
Sometimes we did versions with hardly any vocals at all.

A small story for you from 1979.
I was playing a club that used to have "guest" djs.
Stars would come in to promote their latest book/movie/song...whatever

So........ tonights guest is Hollywood star George Hamilton.

He is in Australia to promote his new film "Love At First Bite".
He was my "guest" dj for about 30 mins (dressed in Dracula gear as per the film).....too funny.

So glad I had a copy of Dracs Back to play!!!!

Thought I might post something I toyed around with in the mid 80s with a friend of mine called Stephen Whiteman.

We formed a mixing partnership called DV8 productions around 1985.

It lasted a year.

During that time we did many re-edits that have never seen the light of day.

This was all done on a 2 track 1/4" tape with 2 turntables & a mixer........oh....& a blade.
No electronics....just good ol' analogue.

It's Jennifer Holidays' "No Frills Love".........The DV8 No Frills re-edit circa 85-86.

Please exscuse the poor quality....it's from an old sticky 1/4" tape that has corroded somewhat with time.

Spot the samples from the following artists......Class Action/Phyllis Nelson/Dhar Braxton/Aretha Franklin/Rockers Revenge.

It features a lot of ol' turntable tricks....double beating/echoing/phasing.
Some of the edits may be a bit sloppy but it was early days for us.

We tried to tell a story in the middle & sort of "sass" things up a bit.....hope y'all can see where we were coming from.

It was primarily done for a Sleaze Ball here in Sydney. The Queens loved it!

At the very least it is us having fun with music.

If you like this then maybe I'll post a few more.

Grab it quick Kidz.
