I'm a big fan of 50s "doo wop", raised on Beach Boys, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, The Marcels & so on.

That's why I liked this track so much when it came out, as it harks back to that 40's-50's stylised kind of vocal delivery, as well as telling the story of a young group of guys, who used to hang out on street corners, practicing their harmonies.

The other thing that struck me with this track was how wonderfully produced & arranged it was.

It's got a funky beat supported by wonderful solos from the sax & steel drums.

This track was huge in Australia & it always brings back the sounds & smells of my teen years in those hot, hot summers back in the 70s.

I believe quite a lot of djs around the globe played this is in the discos at the time.

WET WILLIE - "STREET CORNER SERENADE"

Sorry it's only @ 128kbps but if anyone has a better rip, please feel free to add it.

Culture Club's "TIME" was one of my biggest jams---especially mixing the instrumental & the vocal!!!!

Nik Kershaw was also a big favorite of mine, especially the 12" version!!
