My name is Barry Lederer and I can be googled or looked up on this site for my disco history.
I was fortunate to play at several of the most important clubs in NYC and for that matter in the US during the 70's
The clubs were The Botel (which was an afternoon Teadance) and the famous Sandpiper, where so many DJ Pioneers played. I was there for 2 years.
Other DJs before and after me were: Don Finlay(not widely known, but incredible), Tom Moulton(need I say more), Tom Savarese, Roy Thode, Lary Sanders.Richie Rivera and Robbie Leslie.
They all went on to to fabulous careers
The Sandpiper was located at Fire Island Pines, a summer town , that was mostly gay.
Down the Beach was Cherry Grove, somewhat more outrageous, who also produced some of the best DJs including Bobbi DJ and David Todd.
It was a great time to be there and I will go into more detail later

There were so many great clubs which deserves to be mentioned here...
